Training for Bronze, Silver & Gold Level Practice

For Early Learning Leads, Teachers & Practitioners to support delivery of the EW Foundations Programme.
 
Meetings have been grouped according to the level of programme that your setting or you personally are at in your Emotion Works Foundations journey.
 
BRONZE LEVEL Introductory Sessions for:
  • Onboarding support & Guidance
  • Leads from Settings wishing to apply for a Bronze Award
  • ‘New to EW’ practitioners working through Bronze Level CPD (even if your Setting is at a different level of accreditation)
  • Mon 16th March OR Thurs 30th April, 3:45-4:30pm plus 15m Q&A
 
SILVER LEVEL Next Steps Sessions for:
  • Bronze Accredited Settings looking at applying for a Silver Award
  • ‘Next Steps’ practitioners working through Silver Level CPD (even if your Setting is at a different level of accreditation)
  • Thurs 26th March OR Weds 13th May, 3:45-4:30pm plus 15m Q&A
 
Extension Sessions (GOLD LEVEL) for:
  • Silver Accredited Settings looking at applying for a Gold Award
  • ‘Experienced’ practitioners working through Gold Level CPD (even if your Setting is at a different level of accreditation)
  • Weds 1st April OR Tues 19th May, 3:45-4:30pm plus 15m Q&A

For practitioners and settings who have completed introductory training, possibly achieved a Bronze Early Learning award and are looking for next steps for staff development & practice.

Training Goals

  • Develop staff understanding and use of the Cog Model and Foundation Language planning tools and resources
  • Provide more ideas for Early Learning practice relating to environment, activities and interactions
  • Provide information about the Bronze & Silver Early Learning Award criteria and application processes

Autumn Introductory Training - (2 part)

  • Session 1: LEARNING TO SPEAK “COG” & ASSESSING YOUR LEARNER’S EMOTIONAL LANGUAGE
  • Session 2: DEVELOPING EMOTIONAL LANGUAGE & LITERACY IN EARLY LEARNING PRACTICE 

Training will be delivered by Claire Murray, programme creator, with examples of Emotion Works in Early Years & ASN practice from around the Emotion Works Community. 

FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE INTRODUCTORY SESSIONS

This 2-part Training course is for Early Learning Practitioners in 3-5 settings, and also ASN Practitioners working with pupils at a similar level of learning and communication.

Training Outcomes

By the end of Introductory Training, attendees will…

  • Be familiar with the Emotion Works Component Model framework and have an understanding of how it can be used as a pupil observation and staff discussion tool.
  • Understand where the EW Foundations Programme fits in to the overall Cog Curriculum
  • Be familiar with the Foundation Programme resources and Emotion Works Early Learning Launchpad
  • Have a bank of starter activities to try and the  knowledge and tools to plan ongoing activities for the group of learners they work with.
  • Know how to work towards and apply for an Early Learning Bronze Award for their setting or provision
