Anxiety Resource for Mental Health Awareness Week

15-21st May 2023 is Mental Health Awareness Week, hosted by the charity Mental Health Foundation and this year the theme is ‘Anxiety’.

To support Emotion Works schools with their Mental Health Awareness activities over the course of this week, we’re very happy to share this Anxiety Resource (slideshow and worksheet) to help teachers lead classroom discussions with their learners about Anxiety using Cog Language and Concepts.

Emotion Works Members & Schools

Log in to your Emotion Works account to access the resource as a pdf here.

Use it alongside the Emotion Works symbol book from your starter resource pack and cog prompt cards matched to the aspect of emotion each slide is referring to.

Even without Emotion Works resources you may still find this resource helpful for classroom discussions about anxiety and feeling anxious.

The 8th Slide is a worksheet and can be downloaded directly here: Emotion Works anxiety worksheet

If you like the look of Emotion Works as a resource for your Primary School and would like to try out one of our Symbol Books using the Anxiety Slideshow above, we’re giving away 100 free copies during  Mental Health Awareness Week to the first 100 non-Emotion Works schools who request one.

If you’re a Teacher, Manager or Practitioner in a school that doesn’t yet use Emotion Works, please fill in your details below telling us why you think talking about anxiety in educational settings is helpful, and we’ll send you a complimentary copy to keep and use in school.
