A very warm & festive welcome to the

PRIMARY COGMAS LAUNCHPAD

We’re delighted you’re joining us and looking forward to celebrating lots of COG-TASTIC learning with you all at this emotional & eventful time of year!

Let's Celebrate!

COGMAS 2025 AWARDS

Regardless of where your school might be in the Emotion Works award journey, this COGmas we want to progress and celebrate your own learning journey with the pupils in your class to achieve your very own COGmas Classroom Award.

1. If you OR your pupils are new to the Emotion Works Primary Cog Curriculum or you’re starting again after a break, then following our COGmas Introductory Activity Challenge pack for 2025 is perfect for you.

2. If you OR your pupils have covered Introductory content (Bronze level work) already then take a look at the ‘Bronze Experienced’ activity list to revise your Cog Model work and then work through a number of Cog-specific activities.

3. If you AND your pupils have covered a 1-Cog-at-a-time roll out (Silver level work) already then take a look at the ‘Silver Experienced’ activity list for Cog model revision followed by 1-Emotion at a time type activities.

4. For more experienced teachers and classes who’ve been using Emotion Works for some time – you can select an activity list that works best for you, or create a festive pick and mix list of your own.

So long as you complete 8 activities for Emotion Works learning during the COGmas period at the level you and your class are working at you can apply for a COGMAS CLASSROOM AWARD!

During the week beginning 15th December Class Teachers will be able to apply for a COGmas Classroom Award online – so long as you’ve completed 8 Emotion Works festive learning activities with your pupils as outlined in the guidance above and provided as slideshows and activities in the resources section below.

It will be an easy process for you to submit your application in one simple step! Don’t worry – we know you’ll be busy so it won’t be too onerous and we’ll even try to make it so you can apply and download your Class certificate with the help of your pupils 🙂

We’ll also award a COGmas School Award if all of the classes in your school take part in COGmas – either by working through a Class activity list each or by joining in with a whole school COGmas project idea of your own.

1. Every class in your school completes a Class Activity Checklist and achieves a COGmas classroom award at a level that contributes to capacity building / catch up for new teachers and ongoing progress for your classes & school through the Primary Programme.

OR

2. All classes and teachers work together on your own idea for a COGmas project resulting in a collective display or showcase of work with contributions from each class demonstrating COGmas activities and Emotion Works learning at the right level for their class or stage.

OR

3. If you want to take a mix-and-match approach with some classes working on their own Classroom 8 activities and the rest of the classes working together on a bigger project that’s fine too.

During the week beginning 15th December your School Award Leads will be able to apply for a COGmas School Award online – by simply confirming all classes have taken part in a whole school COGmas project, OR letting us know that every class in your school has achieved a COGmas Classroom Award, OR a combination of the 2 as outlined above.
