Severe & Complex Needs Training Day (CIC supported) – Monday 29th April
At the Emotion Works Classroom, 24D Milton Road East, Edinburgh, EH15 2NJ
This specialist training day is running on Monday 29th April, 10-4pm for staff who work in special schools or ASL services with learners who have severe and complex needs.
Thanks to our ‘Community Interest Company’ fund, we are able to offer 2 free training places at this training to staff from your school/service so long as you have already bought into Emotion Works or are planning on doing so. Based on the information you give us about your learners we will be happy to make up a bespoke package featuring the relevant aspects of Emotion Works for pupils with severe and complex needs.
As a guide, the cost of a severe and complex needs package starts at £250 which includes website access & guidance booklets for up to 10 staff along with resources for profiling, planning and staff reflection activities when working with this group of pupils. If required, you can opt to add symbol resources into your package for use with learners who are able to understand and use first words, signs and symbols. The day will be delivered and facilitated by Claire Murray, creator of the Emotion Works programme, who is passionate about promoting ‘education and wellbeing for all’. Attendees will have an opportunity to share their own experiences of working children and young people who have significant learning needs and to reflect on the particular challenges and joys this brings. A realistic problem solving approach will be encouraged, alongside some inspiring case examples from others already using Emotion Works at the very earliest level.
Previous attendees of this course are welcome back to access updated resources and information – just email firstname.lastname@example.org to remind us of your name and school/provision.
